This bittersweet final release of the Platinum Collection was released in 2014 and was the final new set of restorations that would be provided for the public for six years. Unlike its previous two releases, the Blu-ray version does not have a third disc of bonus features. Its DVD counterpart was also released the same day as the Blu-ray version, which lacks all the bonus features. It originally retailed for $27 for the Blu-ray release.
Per the usual, most shorts are their prints from the Golden Collection but upgraded to HD resolution. A small handful, however, are new restorations to fit the HD resolution, primarily if the original restoration was originally restored in SD, usually also reducing the amount of DVNR used. This primarily affects shorts that feature Bugs Bunny in this volume, but one short was re-restored in a way that its original color rings were restored in the process. By comparing the shorts with their Golden Collection counterpoints, you may notice fewer artifacts, interlacing, and blur on the image here, but darker colors overall.
The set this time around doesn't follow the same theme as the previous two volumes; it's more clear it was aimed to clean up several Academy Award-winning/nominated shorts that weren't on previous volumes. Disc 1 is primarily dominated by "essential" Bugs Bunny cartoons that also include a handful of miscellaneous shorts. Of the shorts, only one is new to disc, being "Honey's Money".
Disc 2 is the "all-star" disc, to say the least. Most of the Academy Award shorts were poured into this disc, and a few wartime shorts were also added, primarily involving Daffy Duck. Three new to disc cartoons are on this disc, of which two were also Academy Award nominees: "Life with Feathers", "Tree for Two", and "Beep Prepared". While "Guided Muscle" was stated to have its music-only track included, it is actually not present, and a duplicate of the normal track is in its place, likely due to an error.
The series ended unceremoniously with this volume, as Warner Bros. attempted to move their marketing towards targeting general family audiences over the collector. Restorations had come to a stop after this volume; the series would not go back to the collector's or restoration team's limelight until 2020, when HBO Max launched.
