The fifth volume marked, perhaps, a sudden turn for the worse in terms of sales. Being released close to the Great Recession in 2008 resulted in the set selling poorly, leading to the internal staff being alerted that this would be the final volume. Only by mass requests were they able to make this the penultimate volume instead. This is also the first volume that was not released outside or region 1 on the series' initial run.
There's also a bit of differences compared to earlier volumes. Disc 1 no longer had just Bugs Bunny shorts, but also a handful of Daffy Duck ones. Disc 2 focuses on shorts that parodies fairy tales and classic literature. Disc 3 is the Bob Clampett showcase, where all shorts were directed during Clampett's tenure (although two were either started or finished by other directors). Finally, disc 4 showcases black-and-white shorts that primarily featured Porky Pig, but also a few from the studio's early output.
Television specials were fully included for the first time as bonus features, although none are restored and the shorts present thus don't have the title cards often seen on current television airings.
