Best of Warner Bros. 50 Cartoon Collection: Looney Tunes Rotate cover
Announced in March 2013, an attempt to celebrate the studio's 90th anniversary ends up being a large slap in the face for collectors and fans alike.

This collection is primarily a "best of" set made of only shorts that were previously available on the Golden Collection, Super Stars, or Platinum Collection sets. The intention? Obviously to target the general family and children audience over the collector. To make matters worse, "Crockett-Doodle-Do" is cropped to the widescreen format and the three bonus CGI Road Runner shorts are present cropped to the fullscreen format. In spite of Warner Bros. often advertising this release at the end of Looney Tunes videos uploaded on their WB Kids YouTube channel, it is highly not recommended to obtain this set in any way.

Further proving the intent to target general audiences, later printings from 2020 onwards had replaced one short from this set, "Chow Hound", apparently due to backlash for slavery/prostitution themes. "Trap Happy Porky" from the Mouse Chronicles set ended up replacing the aforementioned short.

Collector's Recommendation Score

What's this? This is a rating of how recommended it is to obtain the set, rated from a scale of 0 to 10. This is automatically done and is calculated from three criteria by default: how many shorts are new to the format (20%), how many shorts is an upgrade from previous releases (30%), and how many shorts don't have an upgrade in future releases (50%). The higher the score, the more recommended the set is.

Each short in itself contributes an equal amount, and miscellaneous and post-Golden Age shorts are also included. Thus, even if all Golden Age shorts are upgraded in later sets, shorts in other categories may still prevent the set from scoring a 0.

For compilation sets, only the amount of shorts without a better version on later sets are scored for up to 10 points, as they tend to be repackages of previously released sets.

Any set that scores 0 on new-to-format or upgrade tests are deemed as double dip-only sets and instantly fails with a 0. Sets that also scores 0 on the "don't have an upgrade" test are also deemed as obsolete, usurped sets and instantly fails with a 0. As more sets get released, the score may be subject to change.

This is not an exhaustive rating on the set itself in terms of quality, but rather a marker on how worthwhile it is the obtain the set for a complete collection in the most cost-efficient way. Thus, sets with a higher score are a much better value for your cash than lower rated ones; sets rated with a 0 are generally a waste of cash.
This set has achieved a Collector's Recommendation Score of 0 out of 10, as it is a double dip-only set or a downgraded version of a larger set.

It is highly not recommended to get this set for collection's sake. It consists primarily of double dips shorts or inferior versions of the best available shorts, or is a cut down version of a bigger set that generally have the same cartoons plus several others not included. If this set is old, most of the shorts might have been updated to better versions. Getting this set is not worth its value compared to higher rated sets, and should be avoided for collector's purposes.
