Daffy Duck's Quackbusters

Daffy Duck's Quackbusters Rotate cover
The home media release of the titular compilation film that served as one of the final compilation films in the series that cuts down theatrical shorts into a movie. It is notable for having two shorts that became the first set of theatrical shorts released after the Golden Age, being "The Duxorcist" and "Night of the Living Duck". The original 2009 DVD release from Warner Home Video was unrestored, but it was touched up by Warner Archive Collection to match up to the standard of the restored shorts featured in more modern Looney Tunes sets for a Blu-ray release in 2025.

On technicality due to being cut clips, this marks the Blu-ray debuts of "Daffy Dilly", "The Prize Pest", "Water, Water Every Hare", "Claws for Alarm", "Transylvania 6-5000", "The Abominable Snow Rabbit", and "Jumpin' Jupiter". The aforementioned shorts were restored beforehand on the Golden Collection or Super Stars sets, but none of which had ever seen an official HD debut in full at the time.

This set contains a selection of post-Golden Age shorts as a bonus, including the aforementioned two shorts that was originally made for the film. Most of these are restored debuts (those newly restored are from the 2020 restoration project, although these post-Golden Age shorts suffered the least from Photoshop-related problems), although "Little Go Beep" was present as a widescreen cropped version despite being originally produced (and released on home media) in the Academy ratio format, likely to try to match to theatrical airings ala the same manner the post-1953 Super Stars shorts suffered in its earliest volumes.

Collector's Recommendation Score

What's this? This is a rating of how recommended it is to obtain the set, rated from a scale of 0 to 10. This is automatically done and is calculated from three criteria by default: how many shorts are new to the format (20%), how many shorts is an upgrade from previous releases (30%), and how many shorts don't have an upgrade in future releases (50%). The higher the score, the more recommended the set is.

Each short in itself contributes an equal amount, and miscellaneous and post-Golden Age shorts are also included. Thus, even if all Golden Age shorts are upgraded in later sets, shorts in other categories may still prevent the set from scoring a 0.

For compilation sets, only the amount of shorts without a better version on later sets are scored for up to 10 points, as they tend to be repackages of previously released sets.

Any set that scores 0 on new-to-format or upgrade tests are deemed as double dip-only sets and instantly fails with a 0. Sets that also scores 0 on the "don't have an upgrade" test are also deemed as obsolete, usurped sets and instantly fails with a 0. As more sets get released, the score may be subject to change.

This is not an exhaustive rating on the set itself in terms of quality, but rather a marker on how worthwhile it is the obtain the set for a complete collection in the most cost-efficient way. Thus, sets with a higher score are a much better value for your cash than lower rated ones; sets rated with a 0 are generally a waste of cash.
This set has achieved a Collector's Recommendation Score of 8.714 out of 10, based on the sum of the score from the following categories:
  • New-to-format score (up to 2 points): 1.14
  • Upgrade score (up to 3 points): 2.57
  • Doesn't have an better version score (up to 5 points): 5

It is recommended to get this set for collection's sake, as it currently contains a significant portion of the best versions of the cartoons available. The set may contain a small amount of double dips or shorts that have been upgraded that dips the rating down, but not enough to deter collecting.

Included Shorts

Note: This table accounts for the Blu-ray version; only "Duck Dodgers", "Little Go Beep", and "Superior Duck" are present unrestored on the DVD version.
