Originally pitched as a generic Blu-ray release of The Essential Bugs Bunny with a Funko Pop figure, advice from none other than Jerry Beck led to an extraordinary big set for Bugs' 80th anniversary. It retailed for $75 on its original release, before briefly going out of print by the end of 2025.
The set contains twenty previously released cartoons considered the best by animation buffs and critics, particularly all twelve shorts from the first disc of The Essential Bugs Bunny, plus an additional eight acclaimed shorts. The entirety of The Essential Bugs Bunny shorts, alongside "Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid", were already available in HD on the Looney Tunes Platinum Collection sets. The other seven have been previously available, restored in SD on DVD, but make their first appearance on mainstream in HD on Blu-ray here:
The remaining forty shorts are a bit of a grab bag of Bugs' filmography; although a good portion make their home media debuts here (let alone those that make their first disc release here). Eight of these shorts were previously released on the Hare Extraodrinaire and Frustrated Fowl Super Stars discs, cropped to widescreen, but are present in full frame for the first time here. The other thirty-two are completely new restorations, primarily filling the gaps of the shorts often left out in previous collections. Jerry Beck estimated that collectors who own previous collections would have about 90% of Bugs' main filmography; although at the time of this collection's release, it's a little under if only restored shorts on disc media were counted (including unrestored and LaserDisc/VHS, it's indeed nearly all shorts).
Included as a bonus is a new documentary and a select number of season 1 episodes of the 2020 Looney Tunes Cartoons series, the latter of which was previously made available on HBO Max and premiered to rave reviews. Speaking of HBO Max, the majority of the shorts featured on this set were previously made available on HBO Max as a showcase of some of the efforts of the 2020 restoration project; see the history of restorations to learn more about that. Thus, this is the first set to take advantage of using these new 2020 restorations.
The set was released as a "limited edition" boxed set that contains a Funko Pop figure and an introduction letter from Jerry Beck. It received warm reviews from critics, with probably the biggest faults being the infamous photoshopped titles in several of the new restorations, and depending on who you ask, the boxed set being heavily inflated in price for having merchandise that might be undesirable for those who only care about the cartoons.
After completely emptying the original release stock in 2025, the set would temporarily go out of print before it was announced that an Amaray case reissue of the set was set for release on March 10, 2026, retitled as Looney Tunes: Bugs Bunny Collection. The standalone version retailed at $30 and does not include the Funko or introductory letter.

It is recommended to get this set for collection's sake, as it currently contains a significant portion of the best versions of the cartoons available. The set may contain a small amount of double dips or shorts that have been upgraded that dips the rating down, but not enough to deter collecting.
