Warner Bros. Cartoons Golden Jubilee 24 Karat Collection

Back to Home Media Releases

Started in 1985, it marks one of the first full-fledged releases of the series in America.

The Video Show series originally was shuttered short in America with only a meager three volumes of releases, while other regions had access to up to nineteen volumes.

This set is notable for containing its own intro sequence that featured the Tasmanian Devil driving a motorcycle into a theater where Bugs and the group do a portion of the "This Is It" intro sequence from The Bugs Bunny Show. Ironically, only a single Taz short was included despite the prominence of the character in the intro sequence. It was a major success, with it being promoted and reissued for years on end.

Compared to the Video Show previously, the prints in this series were largely a step up, as instead of using videotape transfers, new transfers were made directly from the 35mm print. The prints featured in this series are notable for containing colored borders around the opening title as a measure to prevent overscan that analog televisions at the time usually suffered. This practice largely continued well into the modern day, although with the border color always black.

A total of 96 shorts were released in this series, all of which have later been restored to digital disc media. The sets were often grouped by a certain character or as a tribute towards one of the staff that worked on the shorts.
